Ravenswood Parents' Association (RPA)

  Add to Favourites
All current parents are automatically members of the Ravenswood Parents’ Association (RPA). The RPA’s main objective is to build a strong sense of community through a variety of events and activities available to all parents.

The RPA Executive, P–6 and Years 7–12 Committees are voted in at the Annual General Meetings held in November by the parent body. Committee members are volunteers who organise social and fundraising activities that foster community engagement, including the RPA Chantry Golf Day, Trivia Nights and Christmas Lunch. Some of the projects that the RPA has funded include the audiovisual upgrade and stage refresh in the Lorraine Smith Auditorium, purchasing the Junior School climbing frame and securing the interactive Magic Planet.

By joining one of our RPA Committees, or helping out with one of the activities throughout the year, parents act as positive role models, highlighting the support of their daughters school and the importance of ‘giving back’. This community spirit, which Ravenswood is so widely known by, ripples across our entire school community.

There is a multitude of opportunities to engage with the school, each requiring different time commitments so as to recognise the contributions of all our parents.

Some of the options are:

  • becoming a Class Parent or attending a Class Parent event
  • joining the Ravenswood Prayer Group
  • joining the Connect Group (parents new to Sydney)
  • volunteering at the Uniform Centre
  • cooking a meal for a family in need through our Meals Made with Love program
  • attending a trivia night
  • volunteering for various fundraising activities.

Parents are encouraged to speak with Anna Hyde in the Marketing, Communications and Engagement Department on (02) 9498 9828 or community@ravenswood.nsw.edu.au for further information on volunteer opportunities.
