Junior School
House Spirit
Add to FavouritesTeamwork, participation and community are essential elements of the House system. All Junior School students and staff are placed in one of the Houses, which are Stuart, Tudor Windsor or York.
Ravenswood’s House system:
- supports students by creating a community within a community
- provides opportunities for closer relationships to other students in the same House, both in Junior and Secondary School
- creates comradery and links to the Guiding Principles of Excellence, Respect, Optimism, Courage, and Compassion, and the International Baccalaureate Primary Years Programme attitudes
- provides leadership opportunities through the roles of House Captains in Year 6.
Students proudly wear their House colours to carnivals, encourage teammates competing for their House, and decorate the House boards in their colours. In Junior School, House teachers also actively engage with the students and encourage them to participate in House activities.
Students participate in their House for Debating, Swimming, Diving, Athletics and Cross Country.
Achievement, excellence, satisfaction and inclusion are proud hallmarks of being a House member. All students are able to gain points for their House throughout the year, and the House Shield is awarded to the winning House at the Presentation Ceremony, held at the end of the school year.
